Firebird Campaign
Fine Lines Dance has launched an Australian Cultural Fund campaign to raise funds for Firebird.
Help us make a work of high artistic merit.
Help us fight discrimination and patronising attitudes towards older people in dance.
To show that you don’t have to retreat as you age. You can dance. You can make work. You can grow and deepen your skill.
Help us to show greater diversity in dance and make mature dance part of the cultural conversation.
Let’s do this together.

Funds raised to date
We have raised $10,500 via grants which will go towards venue hire, lighting design and equipment, workshops in movement and voice, technical staff and costuming.
Thanks to the following organisations that have supported the development of this work to date:
City of Yarra
Australian Multicultural Community Services
Our fundraising goals
We need a further $9000 to cover the cinematographer, editing and the presentation of the work.
Please help us create a film that shows mature dance can be a force to be reckoned with.
What about COVID?
Fine Lines Dance is located in the state of Victoria, which is currently in ‘ a circuit breaker’ lock down. We are rehearsing remotely via a combination of video and streamed sessions.
Whatever happens, we will adapt as necessary, reimagining new possibilities or renegotiating our filming dates. We’ll consider what to do if new restrictions impact numbers of people allowed in rehearsal and filming spaces, their proximity to each other and mask wearing requirements.
